Dispatch From Korea: The Gorgeous Spring Makeup Look That Women in Seoul Can’t Get Enough of Right Now

Welcome to Dispatch From Korea, a series where you’ll get the inside scoop on the latest K-beauty news straight from our friends at Soko Glam’s Seoul office. Today we’re talking about spring makeup trends.

It’s officially spring and here in Seoul, streets are bursting with peachy-pink hues.
Every year Pantone selects a “Color of the Year”, and for 2019, it’s Living Coral, a warm shade with golden undertones that the company says “embodies our desire for playful expression”.
Korean people love to play with the Color of the Year in their style, home decor, tech accessories, and of course, makeup. Since the hue is perfect for spring, I’ve been seeing it everywhere lately.
Popular makeup brands like 3CE and Etude House are capitalizing on the trend with fresh collections that feature or complement the soft yet vibrant color.
Below I’ve rounded up some of my favorite new products from Korean brands to help inspire your own spring looks.

Every year VDL creates a collection inspired by Pantone’s Color of the Year. The most recent line includes primer, color correcting cushions, and lipstick, but the most popular product is probably the Expert Color Eyebook 6.4. It’s filled with 12 Pantone colors that complement Living Coral.
3CE

3CE’s new spring collection, Mood for Blossom, is all about creating a romantic and adorable makeup look. Our favorite Slim Velvet Lip Color comes in five gorgeous colors: Peach Coral, Pink Coral, Peach Nude, Mandarin, and Cool Pink. They are super velvety on your lips and provide long lasting full coverage.
Etude House

Etude House’s latest makeup collection, Blossom Picnic, is inspired by cherry blossoms. The pink packaging with a floral print is just so precious. The Air Mousse eyeshadow feels as light as a petal and the sheer, peachy-pink Blossom Cheek Blush makes your skin glow. The brand’s iconic lip lacquer comes in two new colors for the occasion – a bright red and vibrant pink – to complete the look.
Dear Dahlia

Prestige vegan beauty brand Dear Dhalia’s collection, Blooming Edition, is inspired by the pink dhalia flower. The line-up includes cushion foundation, an eye and cheek palette, tinted lip balm, and a lip essence all housed in luxurious marbelized packaging.
Nature Republic

Nature Republic’s seasonal collection is full of sweet and soft pink and coral hues. Part of the line is the 10th anniversary edition of the brand’s Pro Touch Color Master Shadow Palette. It features 30 shades that are a mix of matte and shimmery finishes. The palette was so popular that it initially sold out in three days.
