Soko Glam recently announced its 2020 Best of K-Beauty™ Award winners, and there are copious reasons why the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence won the Lifetime Achievement Award. Below, Charlotte explains why she recommends the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Serum – the sister product of the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence – for the perfect anti-aging treatment, and how you can achieve the “honey skin” glow.
Looking back at my skin care journey, I realize it was over a decade ago that I started my very first skin care routine! Up until age 21, I had no idea that skin care was something I should consider. After all, I wasn’t seeing any signs of aging, like wrinkles or brown spots.
Then I moved to Korea and learned all about K-beauty from the locals. I found out that it didn’t matter what age you are, you can reap the benefits in the long-term the sooner you start developing good skin habits. It was all about prevention, not about immediate results. I’m so glad I learned this valuable lesson and that I had an open mind about adapting my lifestyle to include skin care!
Now that I am in my mid-30s, I’ve been focusing on a very targeted anti-aging routine that incorporates a cocktail of proven ingredients that will smooth out fine lines and plump up my skin. I believe this anti-aging routine—plus my years of dedication to good skin habits—has worked because I get a lot of compliments about looking younger than my age and for having bright and glowing “honey skin.”
What’s the one product you recommend for “honey skin” and anti-aging?
This is a question I get A LOT. If you’re looking for one product that will really pack a punch and give you that “honey skin” effect, my tried-and-true favorite is the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Serum. I like to give credit where credit is due, and this product has been great at plumping away fine lines, maintaining the elasticity and bringing a bright bounce to my skin.
What is the Neogen Micro Serum?
The Neogen Real Ferment Micro Serum was a result of the overwhelming love for the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence we received when we first curated it to Soko Glam. Everyone loved how the essence was jam-packed with fermented ingredients and the sensitive-skin friendly formula that provided deep hydration to the skin. Many fans of the essence start to get on their third or fourth bottle of this essence, but they shared with us that they wished there could be a serum to help supplement their routine. They craved something that would bring more bounce and elasticity to their skin!
With this feedback in mind, Neogen went to their R&D experts and formulated the Real Ferment Micro Serum, which is available exclusively at Soko Glam. I had the chance to test drive it as they perfected the formula before launch, and I was so pleased to see how it improved the softness of my skin, not to mention give me that bright dewy glow I had the next morning. What can I say? Neogen knows how to create those holy grail products!
The ingredients:
A superstar product is only as good as its ingredients. In this case, there’s a whopping 61% fermented ingredients in this serum. Here’s what the Neogen team has whipped up in their formula…
- Bifida ferment lysate: With 22% in the formula, it increases elasticity, skin tone and intensely hydrates skin.
- Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate: This fermented ingredient comprises 18% of the formula and it increases elasticity and hydrates skin.
- Aspergillis ferment: The most important function here is the brightening effect. 3% is in the formula!
- Rice Ferment Filtrate: This has 6% rice extract in the formula, which is an antioxidant that brightens and hydrates skin.
What is the difference between the Neogen Micro Essence and the Neogen Micro Serum?
The Micro Essence is a lightweight and buildable water-like essence, working to intensely hydrate your skin, while the Micro Serum has a gel-like texture that is not as buildable due to its thicker consistency, but it can give your skin the added bounce and elasticity that dull, sagging skin needs to be revived back to life. It also contains centella asiatica extract (a top ingredient for me over the past several years!), hydrolyzed collagen, and glutathione, for firming, brightening, and skin barrier-repairing effects!
The bottom line:
Just as an FYI, I don’t use fillers or Botox and I am pretty darn proud of that fact. While I am not against injectables and don’t judge anyone who does, I have never had to use those types of methods to achieve a “honey skin” youthful glow. I intend to use the best skin care, like this Neogen Micro Serum, to keep it that way.
No matter what age you are, it’s never too early or too late to start (or revamp!) your skin care routine. I’ve heard of people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s starting their very first skin care routine and see how softer, brighter and clearer their skin is after incorporating a multi-step skin care routine into their daily life!
