Love YouTuber Joan Kim? We do too! That’s why we were super intrigued when products from K-beauty brand Troiareuke started getting mentions in so many of her videos. She swears by the luxury spa brand to keep her sensitive skin clear. Read on to find out how Troiareuke transformed her skin and to shop her favorite products.
If you’ve been keeping up with the Klog then you know that we love Joan Kim here. Back in February, we interviewed her about the best places to go during the PyeongChang Olympics. And last year we turned to her for her tips on how to master the Korean dewy makeup look.
If you’re not one of her 450,000 subscribers, Joan is a Seoul-based YouTuber who often vlogs about her favorite skin care and beauty products. Her first ever video about her Innisfree “empties” blew up on the Internet, and since then it seems like she’s tried almost every K-beauty product under the sun, so her seal of approval on a product carries some major weight!
One brand that she mentions often is Troiareuke, specifically its Acsen line, made for those with acne-prone and sensitive skin. In her recent Holy Grail Acne Skincare Products video with K-beauty vlogger Edward Avila, for example, she showcases the Troiareuke Acsen Pore Control Mask. Joan uses it to help prevent breakouts in the hot and humid summer months and as a spot treatment.
Of course we had to learn more, so we caught up with Joan to get the scoop on how Troiareuke has helped her skin, as well as her favorite products from the brand.
“A lot of acne skin care products dry out my skin,” says Joan. “However, none of the products from Troiareuke gave me a reaction. It NEVER breaks me out.”
Joan has been open about her struggle with acne on her channel. “I really didn’t want to walk out of the house even though I had foundation on because I was so insecure about the bumps,” she reveals in a video from earlier this year.
“Acne doesn’t disappear overnight, it takes time,” she says. During her journey, she’s relied on Troiareuke products. “I’ll be honest, it took me over a year to get my skin to where it is now and that’s with the help of going in for peels every other month or so. But I know Troiareuke works because it slowly, but surely got rid of my acne. Now, I’m just focusing on fading my acne scars!”
In addition to the Pore Control Mask, Joan especially loves the brand’s cushion compact, the GPS Sheet Mask, AGT Hydro Essence, and the TOC Toner.
