Luxury awaits you.
A glowing complexion is a top priority for pretty much any skincare enthusiast. Bright, clear, smooth skin is a sign of skin health, general health, and overall youthfulness. Getting there requires some consistent diligence, including daily cleansing, sun protection, hydration, and exfoliation.
Then I Met You’s newest launch, the Rosé Resurfacing Facial Mask, tackles those latter two skin regimen musts in one 15-minute, at-home application. With skin expert insight, we’re highlighting the mask’s two hero ingredients—damask rose and resveratrol—and discussing how the innovative formulation can help beautify your skin.
Skincare Benefits of Damask Rose
The silky soft petals of the damask rose aren’t just pretty to look at. One of the most expensive and luxurious roses in existence, this plant is known for its antioxidants and its microbial properties, which help to protect the skin barrier and prevent premature aging.
“Damask rose—[specifically, the oil that comes from it]— acts as an emollient by retaining moisture within the skin and keeping it plump and hydrated,” notes Dr. Stacy Chimento, a board-certified dermatologist at Riverchase Dermatology in Miami. “Additionally, the oil from a damask rose can be used as a gentle astringent to stop the overproduction of oil and close pores.” We love plumped and glowing skin!
Rose has also been used for centuries for its anti-inflammatory benefits. It’s for this reason that Dr. Chimento says that it’s great for sensitive skin types! When used on the skin, the ingredient can soothe irritation and keep symptoms from conditions like rosacea at bay.
Skincare Benefits of Resveratrol
You may already be enjoying the benefits of resveratrol from your red wine, but this compound also helps battle signs of aging due to its high levels of antioxidants.
“Resveratrol is a potent antioxidant that can be found in the skin of grapes,” says Dr. Chimento. “When applied topically, resveratrol can protect the skin from free radicals and ensure that the skin barrier stays hydrated and healthy. It also neutralizes toxic molecules from things like cigarette smoke and UV rays that cause premature aging.”
Like damask rose, resveratrol boasts anti-inflammatory properties and can help fight bacteria that cause acne. Topical applications can also help give skin a smoother and more even-toned appearance, especially when used with exfoliating ingredients, such as lactic acid, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid.
A Closer Look at the Rosé Resurfacing Facial Mask
The Then I Met You Rosé Resurfacing Facial Mask is a remarkable wash-off sparkling facial that can improve the look and feel of your skin after one single use.
