Good news! There is now an unscented Klairs toner! Keep reading to find out all about it.
If you love K-beauty, you know about the famous Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. In fact, it’s usually one of the first products we tell people to try if they are just first wading into the Korean skin care waters. Why? Because it’s a toner that will show benefits on literally all types of skin and help improve a variety of skin concerns.
Back in 2016, Tatiana had sworn off toners and after two days of using the Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner, she was hooked. The blend of botanical extracts like aloe, centella asiatica and althaea rosea flower, along with hyaluronic acid, immediately plumped her skin, soothed irritation, and tightened her pores.
I also love this toner. It was the first Korean toner I ever tried and convinced me that I needed to use toner every day to balance and prepare my skin to better absorb my serums and essences. I always reach for it when I need something to soothe my skin when it’s been around too much sun or when I’ve been trying too many acids.
And while the original Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner is beloved by many, not everyone could use it. The original formula includes essential oils (which are not horrible for everyone) that can be irritating to those who are allergic to fragrance or have sensitive skin. But now, there’s a new version of the toner.
So, what do I need to know about this new version?
First, there’s no scent and essential oils were removed
Yup, the new Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Facial Toner contains absolutely no fragrance, and gone are the essential oils that could be potentially irritating to those with sensitive skin.
There’s also new packaging!
Check out this new clear packaging with a purple label:
It absorbs faster and is lighter than the original toner
The new Klairs Unscented Supple Preparation Toner has a much lighter consistency and seeps into skin faster than the original one. Here’s what the new texture looks like:
So who should use the new version and who should stick with the original version?
If you’ve found that your skin has been sensitive to fragrance and essential oils, definitely go with the unscented version. Alternatively, if you aren’t allergic to fragrance and essential oils, but you prefer lighter consistencies and texture, you should also go for the unscented version (this can be true for those with oily and combination skin). If you enjoy using thicker toners that you can pat into your skin and feel instant hydration, then go for the original version.
I’d say that those with dry skin and no allergies should stick with the original toner and those with oily skin (even if they don’t have allergies) should go for the unscented version.
