It’s still hard to believe K-beauty has officially gone mainstream. When I first set out to share K-beauty with the rest of the world in 2012 some thought “K-beauty” stood for “Kardashian beauty,” and not “Korean beauty.” Shocking to think about now, but not then.
Thanks to a supportive and vocal beauty community (yes, that’s all of you guys!), an amazing team, and a ton of Instagram posts later, much has changed. Korean beauty is now one of the hottest categories in the industry, and as a result has become more mainstream and accessible than ever before. And not because it’s a novelty, but because people have seen
While Soko Glam and I have been meeting and interacting with you online for almost five years, I couldn’t ignore the countless requests from you to bring some of your favorite products in a physical, in-store space so you can touch, feel, and experience the products in person. And frankly, we couldn’t agree more. It was time to meet you in person, too!
With that said, I’m excited to announce the launch of the Soko Glam Mini Shop in New York City, at the Bloomingdale’s in SoHo for a highly-edited and curated selection of your favorite Korean beauty products!
The shop is exactly how we imagined it to be: A warm, intimate space for you to discover the essentials of skin care, makeup, and Korean beauty.
Of course, we decided to take it a step further and sprinkle The Klog’s video tutorials throughout the mini shop to help you learn exactly how to use some of the unique products:
If that’s not enough, our beauty advisors can help you get started on skin care routine based on skin type. Brands that you have come to love and obsess, like Etude House, Enature, Manefit, Neogen, Re:P, COSRX and Klairs are all part of the curation, not to mention new and exciting additions, such as Hanskin and Klavuu.
But in truth, K-beauty is more than a sheet mask, or about a specific brand or product. It’s the lifestyle that drew me in! K-beauty got me to embrace a skin-first philosophy and helped me to become knowledgeable about my skin, and hopefully you feel the same too.
Thank you for sharing and spreading the word of K-beauty, and here’s to only good (skin) days ahead! P.S. If you can’t make it to the mini shop, you can shop the entire Soko Glam Bloomingdale’s collection here.
The Bloomingdale’s Soko Glam Mini Shop is located at 504 Broadway in New York City, and is open from 10am to 9pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 8pm on Sundays.
