Klog Chat: Which Facial Procedures Are Actually Worth the Money?

What facial procedures are worth the money? Welcome to Klog Chat, a series where we ask you to tell us how you do skin care and beauty: Here we’re wondering: which facial procedures have you done that were actually worth it? Which ones are you considering having done? Let us know.

Skin care innovation and technology, in the form of products, has become increasingly and scarily good. We can push off signs off premature signs of aging, achieve a post-gym glow, and appear as though we’ve already put an Instagram filter on, all without leaving the comfort of our own bathroom.
But there are still a few things skin care products cannot quite accommodate for…
Chemical peels can be used to deeply exfoliate the outer layers of skin to improve the appearance of wrinkles, improve skin texture, and lift dark spots. Botox can reverse the signs of aging, diminishing the appearance of wrinkles. Radio waves can improve collagen production, accommodating for sagging skin and help to heal sun-damaged skin. Skin needling is used to remodel collagen and improve the appearance of acne scars. Lasers can be used to target melasma, produce new collagen, and help improve acne. Fillers can plump up wrinkles, minimize dark circles and eye bags, and lift the skin. These procedures all produce near instantaneous results, as compared with the months it may your products to do the same job (if it can at all).
…And these are just the non-surgical treatments. With cosmetic surgery there’s no limit to what you can achieve.
But none of this comes without cost: monetary, emotional, and cosmetic.
Even after reading safety reports, talking to derms, and seeing before and afters, it’s still hard to tell whether these procedures will actually be worthwhile, unless you’ve actually spoken with someone who’s had it done.
So this week at the Klog we want to know…

What facial procedures have you had done? Were they worth the money for what you got? How long did you wait until you decided? Would you have it done again? And which facial procedures are you considering or would you consider having done?
