Read why the Etude House Gel Tints are one of the most popular long-lasting tints in Korea!
Getting perfectly manicured lips is a process. I’m always surprised how many steps are involved when a seasoned makeup artist swipes on a lip balm, foundation, liner and then the lipstick. And anyone knows that with my messy bun and barely there eyeliner, I hardly have the patience to create a perfect lipstick pout. Skin care? Yes. Makeup? Not so much.
That’s why I’m the biggest fan of lip stains because they give me a pop of color and no one is going to judge me on the casually, imperfect way it sits on my lips.
Does that make me an expert on lip stains? All I have to say is that I’ve tried my fair share of them, from the pricey and underwhelming Benefit Benetint’s to the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres (a glossy stain), and nothing, nothing works better than the Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint.
This is the tint that will last the whole day, and since it’s a water-dispersed formula, it’ll result in a beautiful, pigmented shade.
The Etude House tints don’t sit heavily on your lips, in fact they’re quite watery upon application, which makes them not sticky at all. They have colors that range from bright peachy hues to cheeky pinks, and they smell as cute as they look. Even better: They cost no more than a price of a single Frappuccino at Starbucks.
These lip tints are so popular and have been around for so long that Korean women unofficially call them, “the Korean lip tint.” And for a brand like Etude House to keep these around, despite their penchant for newness, that’s saying a lot.
Now that you’ve heard me sing my praises on the Etude House Dear Darling Water Gel Tint, let me share with you how all the girls are wearing it in Seoul, and how I tend to wear it too.
Dot the inner part of your lips in the center:
Then pat it in slightly with your fingertips to subtly blend:
And ta-da! Your K-style gradient lip is complete! As you can see there is a burst of color is focused on the center of her lips. I love how edgy, fun and whimsical this look is. (Mickey is wearing OR203):
It’s so easy and perfect for creating that effortless pop of color in the summer!
And below is what Phoebe looks like with a more traditional application in shade PK001:
That berry pink hue brings out the greens in her eyes and accents her clear, glowing skin. And the best part – it’ll last through brunch with friends this weekend!
