Charlotte Cho’s 10 Step Routine for Treating Hormonal Acne

Charlotte’s hormonal acne routine includes a brand new Korean acne brand, Dr. Oracle. Find out how it works well for cystic acne in the video!

Wondering how to tame your painful hormonal acne? This week, Charlotte is taking us through her skin care routine for when her hormonal acne is flaring up.

Hormonal and cystic acne can occur in anyone, and contrary to popular belief, it’s actually more common in adults than teens. In the video above, Charlotte walks us through her personal skin care routine for dealing with painful breakouts, and reducing the number that occur.
She starts off with a double cleanse using the Hanskin Cleansing Oil & Blackhead and Dr. Oracle A-thera Cleansing Foam. She follows up with the Dr. Oracle A-thera Peeling Stick. It’s a miracle for getting rid of painful, cystic acne because it’s packed with 6% AHA and BHA, which are awesome chemical exfoliants, and tea tree to soothe inflamed skin.
Next comes the Dr. Oracle A-thera Toner and the Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence to add hydration back into the skin and fortify the skin barrier. Then, the Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch, which is known for being a great spot treatment for getting rid of whiteheads and blackheads fast, but can also speed up the process of healing cystic acne by drawing out impurities and flattening them.
To finish off, Charlotte uses the Benton Fermentation Eye Cream to make sure the sensitive areas around the eyes stay hydrated and to reduce the appearance of fine lines, as well as the Dr. Oracle A-Thera Emulsion and Dr. Oracle A-Thera Cream to make sure that her skin stays hydrated and glowy without becoming oily. For sunscreen, Charlotte recommends the Missha Essence Sun Milk, which has SPF 50. Sunscreen is a crucial step in any routine, but particularly if you have acne! Acne is really inflamed wounds and so they need to be protected from the sun’s harsh UV rays.
Hormonal acne generally doesn’t go away overnight with spot treatments like other types of acne, but there are ways to help it heal faster and come back less frequently. For more information, especially on what ingredients are great for treating hormonal acne, make sure to check out the video above!
