It’s no secret that everyone in the Soko Glam office is obsessed with skin care, and that includes lip products. In fact, in the winter especially, many staffers take a multi-method approach to keeping lips flake-free.
Because we know that many of you are likely searching for a chapped lip-solution right about now, we’re sharing our holy grail lip balms, ointments, scrubs, and treatments below.
Vaseline
“Nothing makes my lips more moist and plump than Vaseline; I am a firm believer in it. Every night I put a teaspoon of Vaseline on my lips and gently put a piece of plastic wrap over it. Drinking plenty of water and tea helps a lot too.” – Monica, supply chain manager
“I have the worst dry lips in the winter and I can’t go anywhere without having lip balm. My favorites are Vaseline (the cocoa butter kind) and the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm.” – Sarina, demand planning associate
Glossier Balm Dotcom
“I’m an avid lip biter so finding lip products that are super hydrating is a priority. My favorite for the daytime is Glossier’s Balm Dotcom in the original flavor. I don’t like any of the other flavors at all, but I swear by this one for the consistency. I tend to dislike anything too watery and find the original has some serious staying power.” – Marissa, social media associate
Klavuu Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack
“I use a lip scrub or if I’m really in a bend, I gently use a toothbrush to exfoliate. Then I use the Klavuu lip mask as a regular lip balm, Smith’s Rosebud Salve or Aquaphor Lip Repair (depends on which bag I have). At night I’ll use the Klavuu lip balm or I slather on a bunch of Vaseline.” – Abby, CX associate
“I love the Klavuu Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack deluxe mini that I received in the Soko Glam Best of K-Beauty 2018 Mini Set and have been carrying it around everywhere. I use my full-sized tub overnight and use the mini as my go-to balm throughout the day. It has a yummy vanilla scent, keeps my lips protected, and has my preferred finish on the lips – glossy!” – Prayva, CX associate
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Lip Repair Balm
“This balm provides long-lasting moisture that immediately soothes and repairs your lips! I put it on before bed and wear it overnight. When I wake up my lips feel plump and soft. It’s also a great product to wear under lip gloss during the day.” – Martie, executive director of people operations
Fresh Tinted Sugar Lip Treatment
“It provides some youthful color as well as hydration and SPF.” – Ariel, business operations manager
Klairs Youthful Glow Sugar Mask
“My absolute fave is the FixMySkin Healing Balm, but the Dr. Dan’s CortiBalm works well too. Avoid overuse of any cortisone product, but honestly it can’t be beat when things are bad. As an overnight balm, I use either Aquaphor or Nuxe Reve De Miel. Before leaving the house, I use a lip balm with sunscreen, as this is often a forgotten trigger for chapped lips! I’m currently using Elta MD Lip Balm. Throughout the day, I really dig the SkinRX MadeCera Lip Balm that I keep at my desk.” – Daniela, CX associate
“When my lips get really dry and chapped, this mask immediately rescues them and restores moisture, especially if used overnight. Tip: they have a few varieties/sheer shades to choose from (my fave is the Classic Agave) if you don’t mind a sweet taste.” – Guadalupe, brand marketing
