6 Exciting Things That Happened At Soko Glam’s Best of Korea Pop Up

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Soko Glam Best of Korea Pop Up in SoHo this past weekend!

Here at The Klog, we love meeting with all of you in person because you’re just as passionate about Korean beauty and skin care as we are. For our first solo pop up, we thought it would be awesome to center around the special events going on right now in PyeongChang and showcase the best of Korea.
So when the forecast predicted pouring rain (for both days), an eerie foreboding washed over us…would anyone show up? But you did. At opening, the line stretched around the block and continued to throughout the weekend. We learned our lesson: A little rain doesn’t stop New Yorkers and it certainly doesn’t stop K-beauty fans. We were absolutely floored and so grateful.
Here’s a quick recap of what went down at our NYC pop up:

We talked a lot of skin care…

Charlotte featured her best winter skin care hacks on site, as well as her guide to the 5-step routine for K-beauty newbies. Meanwhile, Soko Glam’s Skin Care Experts gave out hundreds of skin consultations to recommend the best products for every skin type and skin issue.

We all chowed down on some awesome Korean street food…

At our makeshift pojangmacha, Mokbar served thousands of plates of tteokbokki, spicy Korean rice cakes, across both days while Korilla BBQ brought it on Sunday with some insane spicy kimchi-pork tacos. (It might sound weird, but trust us, you have to try these!) Hwayo Soju also introduced New York to Korea’s favorite drink with some super refreshing cocktails.

We showcased the 2017 Best of K-Beauty winners…

K-Beauty fans poured into our pop up to test out our Best of K-Beauty 2017 picks for the first time live and in person, as well as enter for a chance to win two free round trip tickets to Korea, courtesy of Air Canada.

Bo Park’s dancers brought swag…

New York based choreographer Bo Park’s dancers brought a taste of K-pop to New York with some incredible dance routines.

Soko Glam brought it’s own swag too, but in the form of the awesome (and cozy) limited edition sweatshirts and beanies, which you can now purchase on Soko Glam, while supplies last!

We remembered 1988 in Seoul…

Many of you also marveled at artifacts from the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, donated by the Korea society.

And we went to PyeongChang…

…sans the fourteen hour flight, via VR machine.

We couldn’t be more grateful and humbled to exist in a community that is so passionate and driven by only good (skin) days ahead.

Thank you again to everyone who came out to celebrate the best of Korea with us!
