The Blackhead Removal Method That Is The Real Deal

Meet the blackhead extraction duo that saved my skin from a long-lasting stubborn nose mark.

I can’t remember the day or even how that annoying mark on my nose appeared. All I know is that what seemed to be a small bump (or a huge blackhead) on top of my nose that stuck around for years—true story! It was stuck in my skin even after countless facials and dermatologists appointments —dermatologists who, by the way, weren’t sure of what it was. “It may be a tiny mole or just a sebum thing.” The last professional opinion I’ve heard (only a few months ago) was that I could only remove the thing with laser. Honestly, I was already used to having it there and decided to give up. Enter SkinMiso’s Pore Beauty Nose Pack and their Comedo Remover.
What It Is
Yes, we are talking about two products joining forces here, the SkinMiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack and the SkinMiso Comedo Remover. You can use each of these products separately or together. The SkinMiso Pore Beauty Nose Pack comes with three different pore-extraction steps (two nose strips plus, an essence) and there is enough duplicates in the set that will let you do this process 10 times. The Comedo Remover, on the other hand, is the stainless steel extraction tool that you can use forever with proper care.

How To Use
As said before, the nose pack consists of three steps. The first one is a “Blackhead & Whitehead Removal Mask.” In other words, a nose strip soaked with a formula rich in natural extracts to soften blackheads and whiteheads. The instructions are pretty clear: Apply Step 1 mask to your nose after cleansing and leave it on for 10 minutes, and you may feel a tingling sensation. If you are particularly sensitive, you can leave it on for just 5 minutes. This will prepare the skin for the extraction that follows.

Once you remove it, you can actually notice that your blackheads are slightly more noticeable, which, in my case, made me anxious to what comes next: the extractions!
For this part, you can either use the SkinMiso Comedo Remover to apply gentle pressure around the pore or use two cotton swabs to do the same. As you can see, I opted for the comedo remover.

Using this extraction tool is not that obvious, though. I can tell by my own experience—the first time I used this I was way too aggressive in trying to remove my blackheads and any debris laying on my pores that I ended up hurting myself and causing a lot of inflammation (which made my nose look worse!).
The number one rule to use this extraction tool the right way is to use the smallest loop—the bigger one is supposed to be used on larger areas such as your back, never ever on your face. Having said that, gently press down the comedo remover around the clogged pores. Do not put too much pressure or drag the tool across your skin.
Tip: If you don’t have the extractor, just make sure to use clean hands, or better yet–wrap both fingers in clean tissue. When you press, don’t dig your nails into your skin, but use the soft pads of your fingers to wiggle out the blackhead/sebum.
After you’re done, apply Step 2 nose strip and leave it on for 10-15 minutes (I recommend 15 minutes for more sensitive skin). This mask will basically cool down the irritation you just caused on your skin, reduce the redness, and “tighten back up” your pores. You can feel a light tingling sensation during this phase and that is normal.
Then, finally, comes the last step, the “Sebum, Oil, Pore-Control Essence.” You should rub a small amount onto your nose to prevent sebum build up. This essence feels very silky plus, it leaves a matte finish on the skin.
Results
The first time I used these products I got a bit too excited and put too much pressure on my poor nose—it was just too tempting seeing all the gunk coming out of it (eww, I know!). But the best part is that, as soon as I removed step 1, I noticed that the huge clogged pore on my nose was somehow more exposed, as if I had coaxed it out of its pore.
I learned my lesson and wasn’t too aggressive when using these products again. A little pressure with the comodo extractor produces a lot of results. I was able to remove more blackheads than I was expecting. At the end of the day, the skin of my nose was very smooth and poreless!

Long story short: I’m excited that there is a product that is all about treating your skin gently, and using ingredients to make the entire extraction process easier. Also, that there is a treatment step and essence step after extraction. Because again, it’s not just about finding one easy solution that will get rid of your blackheads for good, but it’s about maintaining them.
