Makeup Products You Can Take To The Beach

The heat is rising and everyone knows the best way to cool off is by the water. While I’m not conveniently located by an ocean, I opt for the next best thing: lounging around the public pool, pretending to be at a resort in Mexico.

What can I to make sure my face doesn’t look like The Joker when the kid next to me decides to cannonball and abruptly splash water all over my face? Use my five favourite budge-free products, naturally.

I know what you’re thinking: makeup at the beach, why bother? But let’s say you’re going from beachside to à la carte dining and have minimal time to fuss or you’re with a potential love interest and aren’t quite ready to let them see you au naturel. Try to pry that concealer away from me then and it won’t be pretty.

Here are my favorites to make sure your face remains perfectly in place, regardless of what type of water sports you decide to engage in.

Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara

Everyone knows that Asian mascara blows the west’s stuff out of the water. This stuff has it’s own remover, it’s that good. Not only will this mascara make lashes look thicker, it’s sweat, water, grease and tear proof. Because of it’s tubing formula, the product won’t smudge, even on your lower lashes. Granted, this mascara isn’t the most dramatic of them all, but to bid farewell to panda eyes, I’m willing to make that sacrifice.

Son & Park Custom Cover Concealer Kit
My complexion is far from perfect, but a face full of foundation doesn’t exactly match with an effortless beach vibe. The next best thing? A concealer kit with different tones and textures to blend seamlessly into the skin. The pinky orange tone is perfect for cancelling blue tones under the eyes, and the texture is creamy and won’t highlight dryness. Want that even skin-tone while still looking natural without a heavy foundation? This is the one. Unfortunately, the kit only comes in one shade, but if you’re fair to light, it’s worth giving this miracle worker a shot.

K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Essence In Shadow Liner

This cute two-in-one shadow/liner combo is a must-have for any makeup bag. True, the shadow doesn’t last as long as the liner, but the liner is a surefire hit. Like a tattoo, it stays forever (and by forever, I mean, a day at the beach).

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina

This will forever be an HG lipstick for me because of its flattering dark dusty rose shade. Although slightly drying (nothing a balm can’t fix), this lipstick lasts and lasts and lasts. Hot dog to consume? No worries. Ice cream to indulge in? Go for it. This lipstick will make it through anything, unlike my waistline.

DR Renaud’s Loose Powder SPF 50

Don’t get me wrong – I live by Missha Sun Milk, but remember that part about sealing your concealer with powder? If you’re planning to be outside all day, this is the one to do it with. Why? Not only does this powder mattify that grease, but it’s a sunscreen itself too! Feel good about blurring those pores while your protect against sunburn and slow down premature aging.

Neogen Code 9 Sebum Clear Pore Mist

Combination and oily skin ladies who hate looking cakey, listen up. This pore mist (more of a mist in powder form) will be your next favorite thing. Absorbing excess sebum whilst mattifying, this spray will keep oiliness at bay without you ever having to pick up a powder puff. Perfect for when your T-zone decides to look wetter than the pool you’re lounging beside. Make sure to shake well before each use.
