Klog Chat: What Products Are You Excited to Use This Fall?

Welcome to Klog Chat, a series where we ask you to tell us how you do skin care and beauty. Now that the unofficial end of summer is here (Labor Day) and pumpkin spice lattes are back, we want to know how you’re transitioning your routine from summer to fall and what products you’re excited to use once the season changes.

Hi Klog readers, it’s Sarah! This time of year is always bittersweet for me. While I’m sad that the summer season is mostly behind us, I’m also looking forward to crisp fall air, activities like apple picking, and pulling some of my favorite skin care products out of seasonal retirement.
Just like with my wardrobe, in the summer, less is more. My entire beauty routine gets a little shorter and my focus becomes keeping my skin clear, preventing and repairing sun damage, and cleansing sweat and dirt from my pores. Once the leaves start to fall, however, my skin becomes more dry and sensitive, so that’s when I start layering on thicker, more pampering products.
My favorite step in my cold weather skin care routine is face oil (is it weird to have a favorite step?). Before I was introduced to face oil, my skin was always parched and flaky in the cooler months. Face oil is what finally quenched my skin’s thirst. Plus, I love how silky and luxurious it makes my skin feel and how plump and glowy it makes it look.
In the summer, I use a face oil sparingly – only if my skin is dry from sun damage or traveling. Once fall hits, I’ll be using one every night, and in the winter, I’ll rev up to twice a day.
One of my favorite products is the Neogen White Truffle Serum In Oil Drop. It’s perfect for those fall days when my moisturizer isn’t quite enough, but a heavy face oil is too much. My complexion always looks more radiant after use. Another lightweight face oil I love is the Ren Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Oil. The bottle is small (a little goes a long way), so it’s the one I throw into my travel bag. Once winter comes along, I’ll graduate to a more viscous option like the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, which zaps dryness and makes my skin feel soft and supple, even in prime snow storm season.
Of course, I’m always looking for new suggestions! What face oils do YOU love?
