Do You REALLY Need a Mask For Your Lips? This Sleeping Pack Will Convince You

When temperatures drop, your go-to lip balm may not be enough to keep the area flake-free. Looking to step up your game with a hydrating lip treatment? Find out what one writer thinks of the Klavuu Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack below.

We’re less than a week into fall and my lips are already dry and chapped. Well, to be fair, they kind of already were thanks to a few summer beach days when I forgot to apply lip balm with SPF. Slathering them with regular ol’ balm doesn’t seem to be cutting it so I’ve brought in the big guns, that is, Klavuu’s Nourishing Care Lip Sleeping Pack.
While I’m all about face masks and hair masks, lip masks have always seemed a little scammy to me. Why pay for a fancy pot of thick lip balm when Aquaphor and Vaseline exist?
But when I found out that Klavuu, one of the buzziest K-beauty brands of the moment, makes a lip mask, I was intrigued, especially given my current lip situation.
Klavuu is a favorite of celebrities and influencers in Korea and is known for its pearl-infused products that excel at brightening and hydrating. Back in 2016 our own Charlotte Cho predicted that the brand would quickly become one of the hottest emerging K-beauty brands, and she was so right.
I’m already a fan of the brand’s Special Care Pearl Glow Mask, so when I had the opportunity to try the mask, which contains natural ingredients like avocado, sweet almond, and apricot seed oils, I was game.

My first impressions were that it smelled good (it has a subtle vanilla scent) and that the silky, emollient texture was a pleasant surprise.
Most overnight lip care products I’ve tried are either super waxy and thick or super sticky. Even if I’m applying it before bed, I don’t love either of those textures; it makes my lips feel suffocated and always ends up all over my pillow. The Klavuu one is pretty lightweight in comparison, yet still feels instantly nourishing and refreshing. Because of this, and because it gives lips a nice shine, you can even use it during the day when you need a boost.
After applying the sleeping pack for the first time earlier this week, I woke up to softer, and noticeably healthier-looking lips and since then, with use every night, I’ve noticed that I don’t have to reapply lip balm as much as usual throughout the day. This is great news since I always seem to be misplacing my lip balms and often have to choose between suffering until I get home or running out to the drugstore to buy a new tube.
I’m still a skeptic when it comes to lip masks in general, but this one in particular has won me over. While I can’t say that the immediate results are that much more impressive than that of the Aquaphors of the world, they’re longer lasting – with regular use, my lips are getting softer and smoother by the day – plus, the overall product experience is nicer. With this little pot close, I feel armed and ready for the colder months ahead.
