4 Easy Holiday Hair Ideas Using Korean Products

Four super easy holiday hairstyles with Korean products right this way…

The holiday season is upon us! And while we all love the beautiful window decorations, chilly weather, and hot festive drinks, it’s also a notoriously busy time of year. With various events—from office parties to nice dinners to religious celebrations—you want to look your best, but not at the expense of your hair’s health.
After using heating tools way too many times in one week, your hair might be in great need of a 5 step repairing and restoring treatment. But how can you both look cute and maintain a healthy mane? That’s where The Klog is here to help. Here are four super easy holiday hairstyles that will keep you looking flawless this holiday season.

Straight and Wavy Hair: Effortlessly Messy

If you feel like you hair needs a breath of fresh air, but you want a break from straighteners and curlers, this effortlessly messy look is your new best friend.

First, focusing on the top section of hair, lightly spray some hairspray and texture spray to the roots on the top of your head. If it makes it easier, you can also flip your head upside down and spray that way. For salt spray, I really love using the British M Organics Sea Salt Spray. What sets this one apart is that formula includes witch hazel and green tea that will nourish your hair as well as style it.

Then gently scrunch the roots of your hair to give your hair a bit of texture and volume. Add additional spray as needed. Pro tip: Try to start with very little hairspray and gently build. If you put on too much it’ll provide the opposite effect and weigh your hair down.

And voila! There you have a beautifully chic and easy do. Whether you’re going to a concert, just catching up on some shopping, or going to Christmas dinner, you’ll have the coolest hair in the room.

All Hair Types: The Half Twist

This one is my personal favorite for when I’m in a hurry but want to look a little more put together.
First, section off the hair you would like to use. I prefer to start sectioning off a little above the tips of my ears. Check to be sure that you like the way it looks in the front and on top of your head.

Once your hair is pulled back, around the spot directly opposite your eyes, go ahead and twist and pin down.

And don’t forget: Accessories make the look. Using a small clip or barrette can really up the ante on a simple look and make it festive.

Add a spritz or two of the British M Organics Sea Salt Spray to give the rest of your hair some natural looking texture.

Wavy/Curly Hair: Holiday Party Curls

This style is a total classic, and if you use the right technique, it’s much faster and easier than most people think.
Before I start, I like to run a bit of the British M Annatto Hair Oil through my hair as a sort of heat protectant. This also helps the curls turn out more smooth and sleek.

Next, use a curling iron to create loose curls. Do this by running the barrel through your hair and stopping two inches or so from the ends. Then curl away from your face. I like to do this in larger sections to get a more relaxed curl.

Once you’ve finished each section, just spray a bit more texture spray, give it a little shake, and you’re all set!

Curled/Curly Hair: The Polished Updo

This style was born out of many years of theater and working in an art studio. It’s super easy, surprisingly elegant, and the most bang for your buck.
If you have straight to wavy hair, just follow the steps for the holiday curls before starting this look. If you have wavy to curly hair, this style is super easy.
Section of the hair at the crown of your head and form a small bun. This will be the anchor for your updo.

Pin securely with bobby pins.

Then take the remaining sections of curls and pin them around the bun, being sure to secure them to the anchor bun.

Just like with the twist, decorative clips are great for this look.

Protecting your hair:

With all of the extra attention toward styling your hair during the holidays, be sure to also give it equal time for R&R. Just like how you should spend as much time taking off your makeup as you do putting it on, you’ll want to give your hair a little extra love this time of year.
Try using the Skinfood Argan Oil Hair Treatment during weeks where your hair is exposed to a lot of products and heat tools. This deep conditioning treatment will keep it healthy and protected.
A great daily treatment is the Skinfood Argan Oil Silk Hair Essence, which can be applied daily after shampooing.  It will give your hair an added shine and protection from dry, cold weather.
Another great restorative product is the Innisfree My Hair Repairing Conditioner. This conditioner combines argan, jojoba, and macadamia oils to give your hair extra shine and strength. It can be used as a daily conditioner or a once a week treatment, depending on what your hair needs.
