The Best Moisturizer for Those Who Don’t Like Moisturizers

Erborian Yuza Double Lotion: The best moisturizer for those who don't like moisturizers at all

If you keep skipping your moisturizer step in your skin care routine because you just don’t like the way these formulas feel onto your face, here is the right product for you! Read on for the full review of Erborian’s Yuza Double Lotion.

I don’t mind adding layers and layers of skin care products onto my skin. Actually, I feel empowered by following a 10-step routine (ok, most of the times it is an 8-step). Having said that, I totally understand that this is not the case for a lot of people who still feel uncomfortable putting one formula on top of another onto their bare faces. For them, most than anyone else, finding innovative and powerful skin care products is just as important as finding the perfect texture that blends almost seamlessly into the skin. And moisturizers are usually the biggest challenge here.

The misconception that links powerful moisturizers with heavy, thick formulas still makes a lot of people avoid or completely skip this step in their skin care regimen. Luckily, the beauty industry is constantly cranking out new and improved formulas to help us all find “the one.” Enter Erborian’s Yuza Double Lotion—or, how I like to call it, the best moisturizer for those who don’t like, eh, moisturizers.

What It Is

A bi-phase lightweight liquid moisturizing lotion that goes beyond hydrating your skin—it also nourishes, energizes, and brightens your complexion.

Ingredients
The star ingredient of this formula is yuza (or yuzu), a citrus fruit grown in Eastern Asia which oil brings powerful natural antioxidants known for its moisturizing, brightening, energizing, and nourishing properties.

Yuza has been used for years and years in Eastern Asia to help soothe and soften dry, irritated skin. It also brings high concentrations of vitamin C, which makes this super ingredient stimulate collagen production and serve as an anti-aging and brightening weapon.

How To Use

First shake it up really well to make sure you mix the ingredients of the watery phase with those of the milky phase. This guy should be used as your moisturizer step in your skin care routine (see our 10-step skin care tutorial here). Since Erborian’s Yuza Double Lotion comes in a liquid formula, you can apply it with a cotton pad—as you would do with your toner, for example—or directly onto the skin. Personally, I noticed that the first method worked better on my normal-to-dry skin—it allows you to distribute the product more evenly.

On those days where I feel like I needed to give my skin some extra TLC, I would apply it directly onto my skin, patting in the liquid formula, to boost hydration at night. Two to three times a week, you can also follow with a sleeping pack before going to bed.

First Impressions

I was really impressed by this formula right at the first time that I tried it. It has a citrusy, invigorating scent that makes you feel more relaxed while treating your skin. I’m not kidding when I say that I felt slightly more energized after applying this lotion onto my face. (I ended up finding out that yuza oil has been used for a long time in aromatherapy for its refreshing and uplifting effect on the body, and calming effect on the mind).

This formula is so lightweight, different than any other moisturizer I’ve used before. It absorbs quickly into the skin and doesn’t leave any kind of icky, oily residue behind. Plus, it sits perfectly well under foundation.

Results

After using this product for over a month I can say that I feel my skin definitely more hydrated and bright. Both the phases work together to reveal an all-over glow to your face (and neck, décolletage). If you are aiming for luminous, not shiny skin, this is your guy! It gives you that radiance we’ve all been asking for and nourishes the skin throughout the day.

This product has shown to be perfect to give my skin that hydration boost, especially during these colder months. It hides all evidence of dry, tired skin, and I also think it helps trick my skin into acting its age.

For those with combination, acne-prone, and oily skin, don’t be shy. Yuzu also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps skin to recover from blemishes. Don’t dismiss the high concentrations of vitamin C– it will help fade out dark spots.
