The Primer That Also Gives You the Best Natural Glow

The phrase “glow from within” must have come from the Erborian Glow Crème because it’s a natural, effervescent holographic thing of beauty. Read on to see why this primer is super hydrating and provides one of the most beautiful highlights we’ve ever seen.

What it is:

Highlighter, illuminator, moisturizer; you name it, the Erborian Glow Crème can do it. It’s a multi-purpose product that simultaneously moisturizes skin and highlights. So basically, it’s genius. But let’s not get carried away. If you’re looking for a super bright highlighter, this isn’t it. This product is for the natural beauty aficionado who’s avoided highlighters because of their over-glittery formulas, but is still curious about achieving some kind of glow. I’ll put it this way: The term ‘chok chok’ in Korean which can essentially be translated to “plump and moist,” and that term is what comes to mind every single time I slather this on my face as it gives me the ultimate dewy look that screams skin first, makeup second.
What makes it moisturize and highlight you at the same time?
The Erborian Glow Crème is formulated with licorice extract, which works to hydrate and brighten. It also features squalane, a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect against UV damage, age spots, and hyperpigmentation. Squalane also has the ability to rapidly absorb into the skin, providing an instant boost of hydration.
Other notable ingredients are poria cocos extract, which is a mushroom extract that has skin soothing properties, and niacinamide, which helps to lighten any pigmentation as well as fight against large pores, fine lines, and overall uneven skin tone. And thanks to a nice dose of mica and silica, the cream gives you a slight shiny glow.
How do you use it?
You can use the Erborian Glow Crème in a variety of ways. You could apply a thin layer much like you would a primer or you can apply it on the high points of your face—like your cheek or brow bones—like you would a traditional highlighter. I’ve tried both and they work beautifully. I especially like the subtle shine it gives that’s perfect for those “no makeup makeup” days. With a thin layer of the Erborian Glow Crème, your skin looks healthy and radiant and the subtle shimmer only highlights and brightens, so the cream helps detracts away from any skin imperfections.
What does it look like?
Here’s what a swatch of the Erborian Glow Crème looks like on Klog editor, Renee Jacques. It has a purple unicorn-esque hue:

Final thoughts:
One of the biggest dilemmas I have when I’m wearing makeup is that I hate how tired I look, but with the Erborian Glow Crème the subtle shine and pearlescent finish is enough to brighten up my complexion so I end up looking ten times more awake even if I only had four hours of sleep (#StudentProblems). And under makeup, it adds a luminosity that instantly adds a covetable shine. When I wore it, I actually had a friend come up to me and say, “You look super glowy today,” and who doesn’t want that compliment?
But if you’re looking for a primer that will ensure your makeup lasts longer, I wouldn’t go for this one as it doesn’t claim to provide any staying power and it works more as a moisturizing glow base. However, I definitely recommend the Erborian Glow Crème if you’re looking to add a natural shine to your everyday look and you can’t be bothered with spending more than ten minutes on your makeup routine.
