How To Clean Your Cushion Compact Puff

There are so many things we love about CC cushions and cushion foundations: these Korean beauty favorites are convenient, easy to use, major multitaskers plus, they don’t require any other makeup tool—their foam sponges handle all the dirty work. But to make sure you’re giving your face all its benefits and not damaging your skin, it’s important to keep your cushion compact puff clean. Wash it at least once a week to remove product residue, oil, and dead skin cells. Here’s how to clean your puff gently, yet effectively.

You Will Need

– A bowl or sink                            – An oil cleanser
– A sandwich bag                         – Your regular cleanser
– Paper towel                                 * One will do, but both will ensure maximum product removal.

Step 1

Stick the cushion puff into the bag and add your oil cleanser.
I’m using Banila Co. Clean It Zero Resveratrol, a solid balm that removes even the cakiest cake-face. Honestly, you could simply do it all in your sink, but this method leaves less of a mess.

Step 2

Melt the cleanser into the puff.

Step 3

Pour in some warm water.

Step 4

Wash out all the foundation. Be gentle so the puff doesn’t lose its shape.
Plus, try to be cool with the surprising amount of product that has accumulated in the sponge.

Step 5

Rinse it all out.

Step 6

To get your puff extra clean, add a drop of your favorite face wash and then rinse again.
I’m using Skinfood Egg White Pore Foam. I like this product because it’s gentle, and since I’m an old-school cleanser gal at heart, I love how it foams.

Step 7

Using a paper towel, gently remove excess water. Leave your puff to air dry and you’re good to go.

There you have it. No more excuses!
