Everything You Need to Know About BTS, The K-pop Group That Made History at the AMAs

BTS made their US debut yesterday at the American Music Awards (AMA’s). Here’s everything you need to know about the hottest K-pop group in the world right now.

Who is BTS?
In case you’re not familiar, BTS (방탄소년단) has seven members: RM, V, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, and Jin. Since their debut back in 2013, these talented, handsome 20-something men, have been making K-pop history.

In May 2017, they won Billboard’s Top Social Artist Awards, the first time any K-pop group has won a Billboard Music Award. For reference, the other contenders were Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes, so you can imagine how intense the competition was.
Yesterday, they again made history when they performed their hit single “DNA” live at the AMAs along with stars like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Lady Gaga. According to Bustle, this is the first time any Korean boy group performed at an American awards show.
And naturally, BTS absolutely stole the show. See for yourself below:

The fashion world has taken note of BTS as well. Before their mega performance, they appeared on the red carpet wearing tailored black suits that Vogue reported as Saint Laurent. Their extremely chic ensemble had plenty of room for play, as buttons, silver jacket, ripped jeans, and white sneakers kept their style elevated yet youthful and full of energy.

The world has also taken note of their “honey skin”, which is a popular term used to describe healthy, glowing skin in Korea.

Their fan base calls itself the Army, which makes perfect sense when you see that they have over 6 million followers on Instagram. When they’re not performing at the AMA’s, they’re sweeping the charts in Korea and inspiring everyone with their style. We’re very curious to see what they accomplish next to set another milestone for K-pop!
