Check out how to use the “holy grail” status Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner!

I have to admit: Toning is that one step of my routine that just doesn’t excite me. When I do purchase a toner, I tend to choose one that’s hydrating in nature with a simpler ingredient list because I suffer from dry, viciously sensitive skin.
When I heard about the Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner, I was intrigued because it claims to not only tone and balance the skin but cleanse and brighten it as well. I’m all for multitasking, so I was interested in giving it a try. After using it for a while, I can safely say it has officially entered into my “holy grail” status as my favorite toner ever. Keep reading to find out why.

The ingredients:
Acwell keeps its ingredients right at the forefront of their skin care formulations because they are derived from Korean methods inspired by donguibogam, an ancient Korean medicinal text by royal physician Heo Jun dating back to 1613. And the ancient herbal methods are used in toner, as the star ingredient is 10% licorice water. This extract helps to brighten skin and target skin care issues, such as skin discoloration and early signs of aging. This powerful ingredient is also anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, helping to fight against damaging free radicals and acne-causing bacteria.
That’s not all though. This toner contains an ingredient blend called “Puritox,” which uses a variety of antioxidant-rich medicinal herbs like peony, perilla, green tea, and kudzu root extract to brighten dull skin and even out your complexion. This blend of ingredients not only brightens and balances the skin but also works double time to rid it of any impurities. Plus, it hydrates and exfoliates the skin, leaving it smooth and refreshed. The ingredients lend the toner a light herbal scent but for you scent haters out there, no worries, because it dissipates quickly after application. Also, the blend of herbal extracts gives the toner a light brown color:

Results:
After testing out this toner for a while, I was super impressed by what it did AFTER my double cleanse. I personally like to boost the cleansing benefits of this toner by pouring some of it on a cotton pad and swiping it across my face after cleansing, which leaves me shocked every time I see how much dirt is left behind. I have to say, I have a pretty extensive double cleansing routine—from taking at least a minute to massage in my oil cleanser, another minute massaging my foaming cleanser into my skin, and thoroughly rinsing everything off.
So, it’s a bit of a shock to have that much dirt left behind post-cleansing, but it made me appreciate this toner even more. Every time I use it now, I know I’m getting all the leftover gunk off my face so it’s left as clean as possible. This is such a plus because any leftover dirt, is usually the culprit behind stubborn acne.
And I’m not the only one who loves the deep cleaning abilities of the Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner. Charlotte was equally impressed at how well it removes leftover impurities after she doubles cleanses. Just look at how much dirt and grime the Acwell took off her face:

Besides its cleansing abilities, this toner is moisturizing, even on my dry skin. It’s also formulated to be perfect for more sensitive skin types. This rings true for me as my sensitive skin usually get irritated by most products but it just felt nice and soothed upon application of the toner.
This is thanks to the Acwell toner’s formula, which is pH balanced to be at 5.5 so it won’t strip your skin of its natural oils. The low pH makes it gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. If you have super dry skin though, I’d suggest you layer your toner 2-3 times for an extra boost of hydration. But don’t let the thin, watery texture of this toner fool you, it definitely packs quite a punch of moisture.
Overall, my skin is left cleansed and refreshed after using the Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner, but the licorice has also brightened and evened out my skin tone. It isn’t the “OMG all of my acne scars are gone!” kind of brightened, but instead it gives you a subtle healthy, skin glow:

As I said, my skin is on the dry side, so achieving that natural glow seems almost impossible, but consistent use of this toner has left my skin feeling balanced and healthy. I also suffer from a lot of redness due to how sensitive my skin is and this toner really helped to calm it down and soothe any current acne spots I was dealing with.
Bottom line:
The Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner is more than meets the eye. Its combo of cleansing, brightening, and hydrating makes it the perfect one to reach for on a daily basis and because of it, toners have become one of the most important parts in my routine. What can I say? Any product that gets me glowing compliments on my skin, deserves to achieve that “holy grail” status.
